#127 Mid-year book faves

I've read 30 books this year including comics and rereads so putting this together has been difficult, to say the least! Lets all hope, for everybody's sake that this list isn't too long!
*disclaimer I've read a lot of library books this year so there's gonna be a lot of mismatched photos

Wild Blue Wonder, Carlie Sorosiak
I was lucky enough to read this book really early in the year thanks to the lovely Lauren James who posted me a proof copy! I fell completely head over heels with this book and it's definitely up there as one of my all-time favourite books. An absolute delight of a book about love, loss, and monsters—real and imagined.

Counting Stars, Keris Stainton
I hope you're ready to see a lot of Keris in this blog post! Counting Stars is one of those books where not a lot happens and it's very character driven but it's absolutely wonderful and pulls you right in! To the point where it feels like the characters are your friends! I ended up writing a full review of this book so click here if you missed it!

I Was Born For This, Alice Oseman
Alice writes the BEST contemporaries, I'm speaking it into existence! With a look at fandom from the both the fan's and creator's perspective and absolutely lovable characters, it's no wonder everyone is still talking about this book!

Skylarks, Karen Gregory
This is another book I truly fell completely head over heels in love with! Skylarks is another incredible contemporary following two girls from very different backgrounds and situations. It's heartwarming and heartbreaking!

Northern Lights, Philip Pullman
After years of saying Philip Pullman just wasn't my thing I caved under the hype of The Book of Dust and even then it took a few months to request the first book in the His Dark Materials series at the library and I'm so glad I did! I fell in love with Lyra and I will eventually track the second book down at the library!

Letters to the Lost, Brigid Kemmerer
I couldn't stop talking about this book when I read it! It dealt with loss and grief in a way that I'd never really read before! This book is such an interesting mix of classic fluffy contemporary and a little bit of a dark theme!

My Heart Goes Bang, Keris Stainton
I was lucky enough to be one of the first people to read the almost finished version which I'm still in disbelief about to be honest. My Heart Goes Bang is the unofficial sequel to Counting Stars - same house different friends with girls supporting girls, LGBTQ+ representation this book is just so wonderful!

Out of the Blue, Sophie Cameron
I love a good book with magic realism and Out of the Blue did not disappoint! Taking place during the Edinburgh festival angels have started falling to the ground none of them surviving except for one! It's hard to believe this book is a debut, I loved Sophie's writing style and I can't wait to see what she writes next!

The Invitation, Keris Stainton
Okay, last Keris book I promise but I just love her a lot! The Invitation is one of Keris' adult books and it's one of the few adult books I love! I was absolutely honoured when I was asked to a part of the blog tour!

Moonrise, Sarah Crossan
Going in I'd heard so many amazing things about this book and rightly so! Written in verse Moonrise deals with the topic of the death penalty in such a beautifully heartbreaking way, it's definitely one you have to read yourself!

I've read so many wonderful books this year it was hard to pick my definite favourites! Let me know if you've read any of these!
