#29 Christmas Hot Chocolates!

There's nothing I love more than cuddling up with a hot chocolate and a movie or a book in the winter months, so today I have three hot chocolate recipes for you!

#1 Super simple hot chocolate
You will need...
  • Chocolate (it's up to you how much you use)
  • 1-2tsp drinking chocolate
  • Milk (or non dairy alternative - I recommend hazelnut)
  • Optional:Squirty cream, mini marshmallows, a candy cane
How to...
  • First you need to heat up your milk in a jug in the microwave or in a saucepan
  • Once heated, put the milk into your favourite mug and add both the chocolate and drinking chocolate and mix until well combined (make sure the chocolate is completely melted)
  • Top with cream and mini marshmallows and hang a candy cane on the side if you want!

#2 Gingerbread hot chocolate
You will need...
  • Chocolate (it's up to you how much you use)
  • 1-2tsp drinking chocolate
  • Milk (or non dairy alternative - I recommend hazelnut)
  • Gingerbread syrup (you can buy this in either Starbucks or Whittard)
  • Optional:Squirty cream and mini marshmallows

How to...

  • Just like before heat up your milk and combine with the chocolate and the drinking chocolate once heated
  • When both chocolates are combined you can then add a teaspoon of gingerbread syrup for a super Christmasy touch!
  • And top with cream and mini marshmallows if you want!

#3 Toffee nut hot chocolate
You will need...
  • Chocolate (it's up to you how much you use)
  • 1-2tsp drinking chocolate
  • Milk (or non dairy alternative - I recommend hazelnut)
  • Toffee nut syrup (you can buy this in Starbucks)
  • Optional:Squirty cream and mini marshmallows
When I spotted that a lot of Starbuck merchandise (is that the right term???) was 30% a couple of weeks ago I couldn't be happier, so I picked up a bottle of the toffee nut syrup simply because one of my favourite festive Starbucks drinks is the toffee nut latte, I also found that this syrup tastes great in hot chocolate!

How to...

  • Just like the previous hot chocolates heat up your milk and combine with the chocolate and the drinking chocolate once heated
  • Once everything is combined you can then add a teaspoon of toffee nut syrup!
  • And top with cream and mini marshmallows if you want!`

Let me know if you try out any of these recipes and have a very merry Christmas and I'll see you all again on the 30th!

Also I'd like to say a massive thank you to Laurel for taking the photos featured in today's post! I was having a slight nightmare and she saved the day!
