#92 January in books
January was a weird month reading wise, I read two books in the first week (the first book was one I started late December) but then I seemed to just stop reading, but I really wanted to do a monthly wrap up so here we are!
A Monster Calls, Patrick Ness - ★★★★☆
I was mostly motivated to read this book because of the film (which I'm still yet to see) and I really enjoyed it!
It was heartbreaking and I was a little lost at places but I get why everyone loves it so much!
Wing Jones, Katherine Webber - ★★★★★
Charisma, Jeanne Ryan - ★★★☆☆ (and a half)
What were you reading in January? Let me know in the comments so I can add your recommendations to my never-ending TBR!

I adored this book and I still can't stop thinking about it (or talking about it online)!
From the gorgeous cover and sprayed pages to the beautiful story itself - this book is one I urge everyone to read! Make sure to read my full review here!

The Princess Diarist, Carrie Fisher - DNF
I started this book with full intentions of finishing it but only read 50 pages, mostly because I'm still so upset about Carrie's death - it's going to be a while until I can pick it up again!
Charisma, Jeanne Ryan - ★★★☆☆ (and a half)
At first, I really enjoyed Charisma, it wasn't quite what I expected it to be which I think is always a good thing!
However, towards the end, it started to drag on a bit and I found it really slow at places.
Maresi, Maria Turtschaninoff - ★★★★☆
If you read my Waterstones haul you'll have seen that I picked up this pretty little book (x)
I really enjoyed this book, despite a slow start once the pace picked up I ended up finishing the book in one sitting! I just couldn't put it down!
Overall, I enjoyed Maresi but for a more detailed review make sure to check out my blog post from last week (x)!

Would definitely love to hear what you think of Carrie Fisher's book when you're able to pick it up again! Her death was a real blow so I can totally understand why you didn't feel able to read it!

I don't actually read many books and if I do it tends to be crime ones! Wing Jones sounds interesting so maybe I'll have to try that out :)!

I feel bad, I didn't know any of these books. I am currently reading Harry Potter and the half-blood prince and How to be a parisian. Depends on my mood. But this book from Carrie Fisher sounds great! A new addition to my reading list! xx Corinne from Corinne & Kirsty
ReplyDeleteAlways looking for book recommendations! I'm reading The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet atm and its good but it's taking a while to get through (not a "can't put it down" for sure). Think I'm definitely going to try A Monster Calls next. Sounds amazing! Jess xx
ReplyDeleteVery happy I came across your blog via #TeaCupClub 😊💕 I write book reviews once a week, so as you say, I'm also always on the lookout for the next book to read 😀 And I think I've just find a couple.
